About the Owner: Josh Poteracke is a Sonoma County Native. Josh graduated from Petaluma High School in 1996. After high school he attended the University of California Davis where he majored in Landscape Architecture until his last year of college when he had to change his major due to scheduling conflicts with athletics. After UCD, Josh got his teaching credential from Sonoma State University and his Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology from Sacramento State University. From 2006-2010 he was employed as an adjunct college professor and football coach at American River College in Sacramento, Ca. Due to budget cuts in the spring of 2010, Josh began to pursue the goals he had originally entered college with, which resulted in the creation of Poteracke Landscape Design & Build. As a teacher doing landscaping was always a summer job which Josh has now parlayed into a full-time business serving Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties. Josh specializes in custom decks, arbors, and fencing as his woodworking skills have grown immensely over the 15 years he has been involved in construction. Not only does he do woodworking but he installs irrigation, flagstone, design work, low-voltage lighting, and many other aspects involved in the trade of a landscape contractor. Josh currently lives in Sebastopol with his future wife and 6 year old step-daughter and is looking forward to many more years of providing families with a great product at a reasonable price.
