I went to Baskin Robbins yesterday and ordered a scoop of World Class Chocolate ice cream on a regular cone. The ice cream was delicious until I saw a blond hair protruded from deep inside the ice cream, down near the cone. I was completely disgusted. I returned to the store, went inside to ask for an explanation. The worker very matter of factly stated that it must have just fallen in and would I like another one. I simply requested a refund. I asked for the manager who was not there. She called him on the telephone and he merely apologized and stated how this had also happened to him at restaurants. I asked if maybe wearing hair nets would be helpful. He informed me that this was not a food safety requirement. It's quite disappointing how times have changed. No one really cares about good customes service anymore. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Baskin Robbins.. in Simpsonville. I prefer my ice cream without a hair. Gross.

Despite the bad rating and comment that is also on this page, I have to say my experiences at Baskin Robbins have always been pleasant. The staff is full of teenagers but they seem to really enjoy their job. One of my favorite things is that they always ask about my day or how I am, despite how busy they may be. It's refreshing especially after going somewhere like McDonald's where they just hand you your food and send you on your way.

It's also nice to see that no matter how busy they are or how stressed a service job may be, the staff, especially the nice tall girl who's name starts with a M, always has a smile on their faces and seems very genuine when apologizing for having to make me and other customers wait.

Very great service and ice cream! I will definitely continue my visits!

My experience has been terribl...

My experience has been terrible. They have a bunch of teenagers working here which is fine in and of itself, but these kids act like they really do not care and hate their jobs and it is evident. On 3 different occasions they did not give me the toppings I asked for, but they charged me for it. When I politely pointed it out to the employee, she was so dismissive. On another occasion I was inside the store waiting for my order, there were three employees and another customer who was at the drive through window. The customer at the drive through window sat there for nearly 15 mins waiting for someone to attend to him, 2 of the employees were not busy, they were standing around and chatting away, they saw him, they knew he was there but couldn't have cared less. Finally one of them walked over to the window to take his order and seemed positively irritated about it.

But my final experience here takes the cake. One of the employees a creepy emaciated weirdo who's name begins with the letter M, took my order at the drive through window, and then turned around and made a personal derogatory remark about me to another employee. I was wearing a hat and she actually mocked me. As a customer I was stunned. I've never experienced that, ever! The window hadn't fully closed, I was looking straight at her, I could see her and hear her. When she turned around and saw my expression she didn't own up to it, did not apologize, she just turned away. The employees here badly need an etiquette lesson. So despicable. You go and spend your hard earned cash on overpriced ice cream, only to walk away feeling insulted and bummed out that you went there in the first place. Ice cream station is less than a mile away, and Brusters is across the street. The quantity is bigger and cheaper, the staff is nice and professional and that makes a big difference.
