Smiles of Skokie

I was a patient of Dr. Dave at Smiles of Skokie for several years (about 2005-2008). I always felt that Dr. Dave, although friendly, was in a rush and did not pay much attention to his work. I was also turned off by the frequent email solicitations I received from the dental office giving me updates on the new services available, bragging about Dr. Dave and his family's extravagant vacations, and always begging current patients to refer friends and neighbors and receive a discount of future bills. It seemed that Dr. Dave was more of a salesman than a dentist.



When I did see another dentist, I found out that some of the work that Dr. Dave had caused further problems for my teeth (and ended up costing me a significant amount of money!). For example, he refilled an old silver cavity with the new white material that is currently used. He did not, however, remove all of the old silver filling. My new dentist told me that as a result, there was new decay on my tooth because of the three different materials (my actual tooth, the silver filling, and the new filling). Since the tooth had already been filled twice, and there wasn't much left of my original tooth, I had to have a crown, costing over $1200.
