It also has a direct ownership interest in Atlas Pipeline Partners and a limited partner interest in Atlas Pipeline Holdings. The company has operations in the Appalachian Basin, which includes the states of Kentucky, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee. Atlas America also maintains projects in Indiana and Michigan. It has drilled more than 80 vertical wells. The company owns and operates over 1,600 miles of pipeline in the northeastern United States. Its subsidiary, Atlas Energy Resources, is an independent energy producer that develops and provides natural gas and oil. Atlas America has invested in Lightfoot Capital Partners, which focuses its investments on new and existing master limited partnerships.
