My mother spent the last six months of her life at Walnut Grove. She was always cared for with kindness and professionalism. The staff is the best. Every time I have been in, there have been plenty of smiles and laughter. Residents are treated with respect, and like the adults that they are.
As my mother's health and mental status deteriorated, she was cared for at the highest level she was capable of. She was included in all activities, and treated like a true participant.
When it came time for my mom to pass away, the staff was awesome. She was treated with love and compassion. Nurses stayed on past the end of their shifts to sit with us and say their goodbyes. They gave us hugs, encouragement and compassion.
Even some of the residents came in to sit and provide comfort.
The amount of caring and kindness shown to my mother brings tears to my eyes. The staff and residents are no longer just that. They are now friends and family

Patients are not taken care. Kitchen staff is allowed to feed substandard food. Staff is always talking where residents and visitors can hear them. They talk about how much the place sucks and about how the residents are a pain in the ass. This is unreprehensable.

My mother had two surgeries with in 6 months of each other and needed rehab after the second one. She a as at Walnut Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation for 3 weeks. The staff were great and I would send anyone who is in need of rehabilitation or looking for placement for longterm there. Mom wants the recipe for zucchini and tomatoes.

My mother was at Walnut Grove a few months ago and they saved her life twice. I cannot say enough positive things about the staff...they truly care about the residents. I had to post due to all the negative!

Only gave 1 star because I had to! Rude Staff, residents do not get showers for weeks or medication on time, highly unorganized! I would not recommend this place for anyone!

patients are not taken care of

My mother in law has been to walnut Grove twice recently. She was not given her meds as prescribed and often had to wait over an hour to get help going to the bathroom. She wasn't cleaned up on a regular basis and staff acted like they didn't care. If the staff knew family was present they treated your loved one with dignity, otherwise they were indifferent at best. The physical therapy staff was very kind and helpful. All others, not so much.

Overall
Poor Treatment of staff and residents

If I could give the facility a zero or negative number I would. The administration lies outright. Telling families they must change doctors just to phase out a doctor they dislike.

They treat their staff poorly, causing poor staff retention and picking the worst staff to keep while firing the staff that actually works hard.

The majority of the nesting staff fails to do anything in a timely manner and residents suffer for this b
