Bands beware! I booked a show at this place several months in advance, and long after paying for promo and pr they cancelled the show over, get this: Baseball. Someone from the venue apparently didn't like my the baseball team from the city I once lived in. After seeing my Facebook post on a personal page I received harassing comments from representatives of the venue. I attempted to reason w the venue, apologizing for any offense given and citing that it's only a game and it's only Facebook, but the response given in return was unbelievably unprofessional "your band is not welcome here". Now, Springfield, IL is not a primary market, and missing a show there isn't a huge deal for any act, but there are some cool people who live there in town that deserve to be connected to the outside world. It's a shame they're burdened w such a negative space for live music such as Bar None:-
