Darcy's does make a good horse...

Darcy's does make a good horse shoe. It always used to be my favorite, until I tried the Creek in Chatham. Their cheese sauce is even better than Darcy's. Darcy's is always busy, so sometimes it can take quite a while to get seated. The food is not a disappointment though.

General Info
Owners Hallie Pierceall and Glenn Merriman opened D'Arcy's in 1998 in the Town & Country Mall on MacArthur Boulevard. It didn't take long for D'Arcy's to become a favorite destination for good food and fun in Springfield. In 2005, D'Arcy's moved a few blocks south to its current location at 661 W. Stanford Avenue. Within its cozy confines, Irish hospitality reigns supreme. We want people to feel comfortable here so they'll want to stay awhile, just like a corner pub in Ireland, said Hallie. The new location has allowed D'Arcy's to expand its services and grow as a business. The new building is 1000 square feet larger than the old location and has enough outdoor space for a beer garden with seating for 40 people. The decor also incorporates some Springfield history. For instance, a beautiful wood ice cream counter that was once part of the Sugar Bowl, 900 S. Grand West, from 1927 to 1959, is in D'Arcy's west room. The restaurant also serves many tourists who are in the capital city to see the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library and want to sample D'Arcy's famous horseshoes. ( A horseshoe, if you're not from Springfield, includes your choice of meat, served over Texas toast, piled high with fries and topped with homemade cheese sauce ).
