Lane A. DeCoster is Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Underwriting Services Division Manager of GenStar. He leads corporate underwriting, referral underwriting, actuarial pricing, data analytics, predictive modeling, coverage wording, state filings and regulatory compliance, and catastrophe management for enterprise risk management. He has the same roles for Genesis. Prior to assuming these positions for GenStar in 2015, he was a Vice President and Senior Referral Officer for GenStar and Genesis. Lane’s career began at The Home Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter. In 1987, Lane joined the Gen Re Group and held various reinsurance positions in underwriting, marketing, and management in Treaty, Casualty Facultative Programs, and initially Genesis. Lane received a BS degree from the University of Vermont.
Ted Gaisford is Senior Vice President and Division Manager of the GenStar and Genesis Claim Department. Ted joined GenStar in 1995 as a Claim Examiner in the Los Angeles Branch, handling primary and excess casualty claims. In 1997 he was promoted to the Los Angeles Branch Claim Manager; he maintained that role until 2009, when he was promoted to Unit Manager for the Professional Liability Claim Unit in Chicago. Ted became the Unit Manager for the Genesis Claim Unit in 2014 and maintained that role until he was promoted to his current position. Ted is a graduate of San Jose State University and has earned his CPCU, RPLU+, ARM and ARM-P designations.
