I had a bad experience with Phoenix Pest control. I had them come out for rats. They got the foam - that is used to seal holes rats will use to gain access to the roof or house - all over our driveway, garage floor, and the sides of the house. Left permanent stains. I will give Phoenix - they tried to get it off. But it did not work.
I feel that Phoenix charges way too much for the type of work you get. They charged a friend of mine 1/4 what they charged me. Granted, it was a smaller house, but not enough to make that big of a difference.
Also, they only put out just a few bait boxes. And a couple of traps in the attic. When I looked at the traps in the attic, there appeared to be no bait on them. The only way we were able to make a dent into the rat population outside was to put poison down ourselves and increase the number of bait boxes and traps. With that, we noticed the rat population starting to decline.
In addition, upon the first meeting with Phoenix, I was told there were rat droppings in the attic. However they were unable to physically show them to me. That is a very unfair scare tactic.
On Phoenix's behalf - they are very nice, and I do believe they are knowledgable. And they did close areas of the house and roof, rats could possibly use to get inside (though, I cannot say I am confident they got all crevices). However, they offered no solutions to try to make up for some of their damage to the house. I don't feel Phoenix's method of rat control was very good. Even more so with their prices. I am very disappointed.
Iam the owner of the company and want to respond. I had a malfunction with my foam gun. It accidently sprayed a blast of black spots on the driveway and also a small spot on the garage floor. No one was more upset than I was at myself. This is a nice family that just moved into their new home and I felt terrible. I came out that weekend and spent 3 hours pressure washing the driveway making the little black spots about 70% less visible. I purchased the matching garage floor coating kit, offered to paint it myself, and was told the floor was going to be redone anyway to cover up other flaws that were already there. I asked for and was given house paint which I used to paint over the two small stains that were on the side of the house from closing up the two a/c chases. The homeowner was satisfied with my efforts and happy to have another floor kit to use. The accusation of any scare tactics is personally disheartening. We were called because there was in fact a rat problem. During our inspection we found several areas that required closure to keep the rats out of the attic. We put bait stations outside as a courtesy to help reduce the population around the home. The homeowner was satisfied and the rat problem was solved. Prices are based on the amount of work, time and follow-up involved. Each job has its own set of obstacles and no two houses are the same. We are very competitively priced, honest, and dependable. Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority. I am very dissapointed this one is not. Especially since every attempt was made to. We have been clients of Phoenix Pest Management for over five years
Our experience has been that they always arrive on time, are friendly, address any concerns that we might have, and are professional. Between scheduled visits, we can call them for any specific problems and they come at no additional charge. However, due to the fact that they are very thorough in their assessment and service, we have only called them one time in the the five plus years after a very heavy rain and an ant problem. We can count on them and will continue their service.
