Formed in 1939, the Taylor Fire Department works to protect lives and property through fire suppression, education, emergency medical services, code enforcement and response to hazardous material incidents. The department maintains various fire stations that house engines, medical rescue units and shift commander vehicles. It is comprised of more than 50 uniformed career firefighters in the fire suppression division, staff officers and civilian personnel. The Taylor Fire Department employs several emergency medical technicians who are responsible for introductory anatomy and physiology, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, treatment of medical and trauma emergencies, patient assessment and initial basic airway management. It is located in Taylor, Mich.
