Shawn is a published author, having published the Exercise Physiology chapter in the textbook, “Orthopedic Physical Therapy Secrets 3rd edition.” Shawn has also had his research published in the journal, “Aging and Mental Health,” where he studied the association between depression and tinnitus in a nationally representative sample of US older adults.
Physical Therapy (PT) is a health care specialty provided by a licensed Therapist with a concentration on evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of the musculoskeletal system. Practitioners utilize hands on techniques such as mobilization, manipulation, neuromuscular re-education and massage to assist with restoration of normal range of motion. Therapists also use therapeutic exercise and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, heat and ice to assist with managing pain and swelling, to regain range of motion and improve strength.
We understand sports medicine. Most of our clinical staff have competed in athletics and we have actively supported Spencer County athletes since 1999. We provide free injury assessments to everyone, including athletes.
