He also served as Associate Professor at the University of South Florida for 6 years. He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Growing up in SÃ£o Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Schwartz-Fernandes often accompanied his father, an orthopedic and spine surgeon, to work. As he observed through his father, Dr. Schwartz-Fernandes works as a team with his patients by listening and ensuring they fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options. In his spare time, Dr. Schwartz-Fernandes enjoys cycling, horseback riding, reading and cooking.
