Turned my frown, upside down

Overheated Car !!!

That was me! It was about 9am and I am leaving Jersey to go home to Connecticut, and my car overheated!!! After getting my car towed to my moms home in Jersey, I was more worried about where I can get my car fixed ASAP! I also have two kids with me as we were stuck in Jersey.

I got in contact with a local Auto Shop named Midas. I dropped my car on Friday and Sam checked my car out immediately. He called me with the issues and quoted what I thought was a very good price for parts and labor to replace my waterpump! My truck was a R350 Mercedes.

He finished fixing my car that SAME DAY which was a huge deal to me!!

Sam even called me the next day to follow up and make sure my car was good and no coolant was leaking.

Happy to say my car was all good and I made it back to Connecticut safe and sound with the kids!!!

Great place to have honest and reliable auto repair!!! I definitely recommend them!!!

I came in with a flat tire on a rental car, and the team was friendly and supportive, going above and beyond to help. They even stayed past business hours to help, and were the ones to get on the phone with the rental company and take care of charges so I wouldn't have to. Not a single person made me feel like a hassle for coming in so late. I received great service and great attitudes! Highly recommend.

I visited this location for the first time and was impressed with the quality of work and experience that Sam and his crew exerted. All of the guys worked diligently in getting my oil change done, and even offered to check my tire pressure before I left. I would highly recommend the exceptional service at this location to others and look forward to going back!

This review is long overdue. I should have written it in Jan of 2018, but at least I'm writing it now. I have had a few different services done by Midas ( inspection, , tire rotation, oil change) and they've always been exceptional. The employees at Midas always treat me respectfully and they listen to me on the phone asking them questions trying to understand how to maintain my car. They even recommended Pro Trans for my clutch slipping and I was greeted with amazing service there as well. Awesome customer service at Midas.

I've been coming to this location since 2005, having work done on my vehicles. I leave pleased because of the quality work, how clean it is, and friendly staff who knows the business. dave is nice and very professional. I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of. He gets the job done in a timely manner. When I talk about coming here to my family, they say, "He's my mechanic". That's how I feel also. I'm gonna always bring my cars here....Thanks Sam

I came in today for an oil change and I was out within an hour. These guys are great and honest. They tell me what I will need and I feel confident that is correct. I love coming to Midas.

Worst place I've ever been. Worked for a short amount of time and found the manager Sam St.Germain to be disrespectful, unfair, and lies to the customers. Coming from a past employee I would advise everyone to never go there. STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE. I've seen what he tells the customers then comes in the back and tells the employees the complete opposite. He even talks bad about customers who ask a lot of questions just to make sure they know what he's doing. All in all this guys a thief and shouldn't be able to run a business

Went there for brakes.Sam the manager gave a speech about what needs to be done.I had to pay $29.00 for diagnosis,something he dad already done 2 weeks prior when I took my car to the same Midas for an oil change.after waiting for 2 hours he told me that the brake service would cost me $744.00 for a regular car people not a Benz or Porsche. I could not run fast enough to leave this place and I will not come back
.crazy place to do anything in your car even inflated your tire with air would cost you a fortune at this place.

Was charged $90 to mount and balance 2 tires. $90 is not published rate and the tires have no weights on them - not balanced at all! Went to Midas to have two tires in my possession mounted and balanced. After they had been working on the car for almost 2 hours, Sam, a manager here, complained the tires were dry, and I probably got them online. I did get them online, but tires do not dry out in 3-6 months as he claimed. Tires that are dry will dry-rot and when a tire dry-rots, it will have visible cracks in the tread or sidewall. After 2 hours wait, I was asked to pay $90 with taxes - ($39.99 for each tire) for the mount and balance. I complained and was told by Sam that he was going to charge me more because they had a hard time. Didn't know mounting and balancing was now an hourly job. Called three days later when they opened again to complain and got Sam on the phone. He said that is what they charge everyone, and it is not! Told him that balancing is $14.95, so they charged me $25 to mount a tire? At which he mentioned that is correct because when people have flats, they have to remove the tire and remount it, so it is $25. Correct me if I'm wrong, but someone who has a flat gets the flat fixed, the tire mounted and balanced for $25. So, why am I paying $39.99 for a tire that doesn't need to be fixed from being a flat??? He is lying and I don't appreciate it. On top of this, I looked today and there are no weights on the inside of the wheel. The old weights were removed, but the wheels have no new weights - in other words, the wheels have not been balanced!! What am I paying for???? I have been cheated, lied to, and paid over fair value for less than half a job! I For the record, I have a minivan that I always bring to Midas for oil changes. Had the tires rotated and balanced several months ago and when I left, there was a vibration in the steering wheel that wasn't there before. I dismissed it because the one tire was wearing wrong. After this, it is clear that this Midas does a poor job at balancing tires. If they can't do such a simple task as this, then how do they fix all the 'major' issues? What a joke - go somewhere else!!!
