Monterrey Mexican Restaurant

We have frequented Monterrey for twenty years. For the last year or so I have been very disappointed in the service and will not be going back. I was there about a month ago during the off peak time. There were plenty of waiters hanging around but I waited 15 minutes and no one approached my table, even though they had to have noticed me. There were few customers other than myself. I finally got up and left and mentioned to the hostess that I could not get any service, so I went somewhere else. Similar scenario has happened several other times but it's the first time I actually left due to no service. I felt invisible and that no one cared. We have been very loyal customers, sometimes dining there three times a week. No more. ,

My family and I have eaten here for many years and they have always had good food, reasonable prices, and fast service.



You could go to Buford Hwy for the more authentic, hard-core Mexican food, but for basic North- Americanized Mexican food, you can't go wrong here! I'm craving cheese dip and a Tecate with lime just thinking about it.



Tip: If you have room after your meal, treat yourself to some sopapillas for dessert. Yum!

Eat here in SC all the time. Great to come to Tucker and have the same great food.

My collegues and I hit this joint up every Friday because of the great food and even better prices...

Not only is the food - everything - excellent, but the lunch prices are too!

We have eaten at this restaurant and found it reasonable and a good value. However our last experienced blew it all away. We had ordered an extra chicken burrito to go with our meal, and, on the first bite, my wife found a fly that had *very* obviously been cooked in the burrito. The manager didn't even apologize and when pressed a little (after we had payed for the food to make it clear we were not after free food), he would only say that there a flies outside (we were eating on the patio), and, this is *after* he is the one who had come to our table and seen the fly and how obviously it had been cooked... Not an appropriate response.... We used to like this place, but, we will not be eating here again...

Reasonably Priced.... Good Quality Food......Great Service! Highly Recommended

I'll drive out of my way to eat at Monterrey. The chimichangas are awesome!

Great mexican food. Wonderful atmosphere. Good lunch specials.

There are at least 9 out of 10 mexican resaurants better than this one.
