- General Info
- Our company began as The Vacuum Shop, a small vacuum cleaner shop in Muskogee, OK. The store consisted of approximately 250 square feet and was established by Jim and Sharon Stewart in 1981. Lewis and Becky Godby purchased the shop in 1985, which consisted of approximately $5,000 in inventory and no employees. In June of 1986, Godby leased a new custom-built building with 950 square feet and added sewing machines. The stores name changed to "Godby's Sew-N-Vac Shoppe and continued to expand. In 1988, Godby purchased "The Sewing Machine Store" in the Farm Shopping Center in Tulsa, OK and expanded to include multiple machine brands.

Rachel was so helpful- we are still new to sewing in our family and she helped us thread our machine properly and talked to us about a free upcoming sewing class and sewing camp for my daughter! I had a great experience and look forward to visiting in the future.
I have purchased a serger (Baby Lock Imagine) and a sewing machine
(Baby Lock Jazz) from B-Sew Inn in the last year. They have been very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with the sales and service of these machines. I have attended 3 free classes and a 3 day Serger event taught by Sue Green Baker. My skills and enjoyment of sewing/serging have grown a lot and if I ever purchase another machine, I will only consider Baby Lock. Cheri was especially great at helping me feel comfortable with my choices. First class all the way.
Personnel is much more concerned with sales than service. There are a couple of people who are helpful but sales staff are flat rude much of the time. Free training is OK but nothing on line or more than the one class. Even making an appointment for training seems to stress sales staff. Would like to purchase a serger but hate to deal with sales personnel. Some are not good with machines at all just want big sales.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They will go above and beyond to help you find a product, fix a stitching problem and have a good time in the midst of it. Go visit them you will not be disappointed!
