We also offer Long Term Care Custodial to those residents who need 24 hour care and home is not an option any longer, we will become their new home and provide this level of care as well. Do NOT send your loved ones here !!! My dad almost died at this place he was extremely DEHYDRATED!!!! The staff didn't even care I was the one who took him outta this crap hole by ambulance. Everyone at this place is full of excuses. Go inside this place take a look and you will see !!!! They have one RN for all 100 + beds and all the rest are kids who took a course at a fly by night college. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE GOOD REVIEWS IM SURE IT"S THE STAFF TRYING TO HELP THE PLACE FROM WHAT I KNOW NOW THEY HAVE A HORRIBLE REPUTATION so do research if you don't believe me but DON"T JUST DROP OFF YOUR LOVED ONES OFF HERE there are other local convalescent/skilled nursing that actually care !!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I have had three of my family members here and I recommend this place to everyone. It is a little older building however, the people become like family with you! I notice some of the new families and residents that come in to Desert knolls are often bottled up with all sorts of emotions, fear, guilt loss of independence etc.. We were too at first however, once you transition into the facility everything gets better. You just have to give it a chance. I notice we get out of the facility what we put into it. My grandfather stayed in his room for the first couple months, then after he adjusted he made great friendships with the staff and really enjoyed his stay here! The adminisrtrator of the building made himself available to help with any problems and they were worked out right away. The food is better than any of the local hospitals. Everything was homemade and very tasty! Best of luck!

Desert Knolls Convalescent Hospital is a wonderful facility with caring staff. I highly recommend family and friends in a heart beat. I have worked here for a few years and everyday I see our wonderful nurses care for our loved ones with caring hands. We have a wonderful Activity program for our residents daily, which includes arts & crafts, bingo, cooking sessions, entertainments, outings, BBQ's, parties..etc. We dearly love our residents. I look forward each day to come to work.

The nursing staff is so caring...Makes you feel right at home...many of the patients return on their own choice and even come back to volunteer. Desert Knolls is one of the best facilities up here on the high desert and I would know...been to two outta the three that exist and two of them are owned by the Desert Knolls/Knolls west family!!!! You can't please all the people all the time.
Sorry that some people may not have had the best experience...

My grandmother was sent here from desert valley hospital and i was terified by al the horrible things i had heard about this nursing home. But she stayed there for about 5 weeks and i very surprised. The nurses were great, always friendly and asking if i or my grandmother needed anything. I dont know what made her expeirence there different but i would recommend desert knolls to my freinds and family after my grandmothers stay.

I would agree to AVOID this place if at all possible, we are hoping to get our loved one OUT of here......if you have no other choice, you must be sure that someone is there all the time, otherwise the patient is pretty much ignored. PT dept is the worst.

What ever you can do to keep any family out of this place, so it. They dont care about their patients. They neglected my grandma and she had to be sent to a hospital. There is so much more but just take it like I put it. AVOID!
