The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law offers theoretical and practical legal educational programs. Its students and faculty members provide a range of legal services to more than 1,000 low-income group residents of Columbia. The school offers services to nonprofit organizations, senior citizens and individuals with HIV/AIDS. It also serves children with special needs and people with mental retardation and other disabilities. The school is accredited by the American Bar Association. It offers internship, community service and summer public interest fellowship programs. In addition, the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law employs judges, academicians and practitioners. It is located in Washington, D.C., and is a part of the University of the District of Columbia, which offers several undergraduate, graduate and continuing educational programs.
