Xpress Liquor & Smoke

Simply put: this place intentionally engages in deceptive pricing. On a Friday night, I took a bottle of wine priced at $7.99 to the counter and was rang up for $9.74. I thought taxes must be exceptionally high in Washington, MO, but I paid and left. Later, I checked the receipt and saw I was charged $8.99 plus tax. I figured this was an accident. When I returned to Xpress and brought this discrepancy to the clerks, both just said there was nothing they could do. I offered to buy another bottle of wine for a dollar off. They said no. Someone on the other side of the counter explained if I brought this problem to their attention at the time of purchase, something could have been done. When asked whether or not I could even receive an apology, the clerk said she was sorry and that this had been "happening a lot lately." She explained ownership had been updating the computer but not the price tags on the floor. Needless to say, that did not make me feel any better.
