Audio Ventures

Bill the owner is a very poor business man. He seems like he is not really interested in doing anything unless he can make a lot of money off you. He acts like he is doing you a favor by working on your equipment. Needs to learn how to treat customers.

They worked on several projects for me startinginmid-2015. They repaired the midrange drivers on my vintage Snell 'B' Types that I had purchased new in 1992 for about $5,000. They also opened up the front woofer opening to accommodate the larger basket size of a replacement woof I obtained from China. They also repaired all four screens and evaluated the crossovers, etc. I also had them upgrade an old pair of Siltech gold/silver alloy interconnects with new Klee connectors. All the work they did on my old treasures was excellent with great care given to not spoiling my near-mint gear. The speaker repairs have extended the life of the B's by many years. I strongly recommend these guys.

I thought my vintage Infinity Q 4's were toast until I took them to Audio Ventures, Bill fixed the woofers and even rebuilt the dodgy speaker grills so they would stay secure. Top notch service and a quick turnover, would visit again, 5 stars.

Please, please do not take your vintage audio equipment here!! Before I really knew anything about the equipment I had, I took my Marantz 2330 to them for repair. Not only did they not fix anything, but they actually made my receiver worse by bypassing the protection circuit. I now have a frozen woofer on one of my formerly pristine AR 3a's. What a shame.



They don't know what they are doing, don't stand behind their work, and are extremely expensive for the "work" they do. I have even heard of them redoing speakers and convincing people to trade out their original drivers for new ones. Not because it's in the best interest of the client, but because they want the original part to resell. They don't have the nickname "Audio Vultures" for nothing.
