Cryotherapy
At Dermatology and Skin Care Associates, we have a variety of treatments for warts and molluscum, based on the patient’s age and the type of wart. We may recommend specific over-the-counter products, use cryotherapy (freezing the wart), cantharidin (application of blister beetle extract), candida antigen injections, chemotherapy or immunomodulatory creams or laser treatments.
Pediatric Care
Rachel Resurreccion, PA-C received her physician assistant training and earned a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at MGH Institute of Health Professions, where she was the recipient of the PA Institutional Merit Scholarship. Her training includes clinical rotations at Massachusetts General Hospital and with Harvard faculty for core specialties including internal and family medicine, emergency medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, psychiatry, general surgery, head and neck cancer/otolaryngology surgery, orthopedic surgery and plastic surgery. She also has experience working as a physician assistant to Harvard faculty physicians.

Weinfeld is dedicated to educating fellow physicians and the community about the latest advanced in dermatology. For five years, Dr. Weinfeld wrote the Quick Pearls for the Primary Care Physician newsletter to educate primary care physicians about the latest updates in dermatology. She has been featured on Cable News Network, the Frugal Yankee Radio Hour, Wellesley Cable Vision, and Comcast Cable Vision. She has spoken to patient, physician, and community groups locally and throughout New England on topics including skin care, skin cancer and advances in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She has participated in skin cancer screenings at the Massachusetts State House and at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Dr. LaRaia grew up in Wellesley and is a graduate of Wellesley High School. She attended. Smith College and was graduated with honors. She is a graduate of Tufts Medical School. Dr. LaRaia completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and was honored to be selected as Chief Medical Resident at Tufts.

BOTOX® and Dysport®: BOTOX® and Dysport®: are used to relax the muscles in your face that cause wrinkles. Primarily used in the upper half of the face, BOTOX® and Dysport® treatments can erase crow’s feet, frown/worry lines, and squint lines around the eyes. Treatments are usually given once to three times a year.

If more extensive surgical procedures are required such as sentinel lymph node biopsy or plastic surgery we refer patients to top specialists in Wellesley and downtown Boston. Dr. Smith has practiced Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery exclusively for 27 years, the last 22 in Wellesley. Dr. Smith is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. Following completion of a surgical internship at Baystate Medical Center, he completed a laser fellowship at Tufts-New England Medical Center, involving pioneering work in photodynamic therapy. This was followed by a residency in Dermatology in the combined Boston University-Tufts University program. Dr. Smith was chosen as Chief Resident in his senior year.

Eczema: Our dermatologists assess the type of eczema you have and its causes so that we can effectively treat this itchy, patchy skin condition. We individualize treatments for each patient and work with you to keep up a good skin care routine. Depending on the cause of your eczema, treatment may include skin creams, antibiotics, antihistamines and other medications.
Lesions
Our physicians perform thorough total body skin examinations, from the top of your scalp to the tips of your toes, looking for any cancerous or pre-cancerous skin lesions. Our physicians are trained in dermoscopy, the latest technique that uses polarized light to reveal the specific structure of a mole or suspicious area. For high-risk patients, we use photography for yearly detection of any changes– one of the most sensitive indicators for skin cancer.
Chemical Peels
Our medical strength chemical peels improve acne, sun damage, and skin aging. Salicylic peels work to open up clogged pores and refresh acne-prone skin. Glycolic, lactic, and mandelic acid peels exfoliate sun damaged and aging skin to restore a fresh, healthy glow.

When I first came to the practice, about 60% of my scalp was covered [with psoriasis], and no other treatments had worked for [many] years. The treatment worked very well…all my psoriasis has gone into recession except a very stubborn area…I highly recommend the XTRAC treatment.
