HPN - Westchester County Airport

For a small airport and the fact you can't pick your vehicle, they do try and accommodate for choices if you need to pick something different than what you originally ordered. They are helpful but busy at times so their is a wait when a lot of people are traveling and it gets packed when waiting for car rental. At least they have the car ready and running when it is cold outside in the winter.

I was out the gate and in my car in 10 minutes. Upon return, I was very late due to traffic and the exeptionally kind staff at the rental return dropped me off in front of the terminal. Now that's customer service!!

I usually rent from the others at this location, this was a first time rental with National at Westchester.
I was not picking up the car till 9pm for a 2 day rental, so was surprised to see a 3 day charge authorized at 8 am on day of pickup.
The car (full size SUV) was ready as promised on arrival, though the odo showed 37,000 miles, a bit long in the tooth for a name brand rental. Also needed a good scrubbing inside.
On return I was overbilled by approx $30, which then involved a walk back to the counter for the adjustment, finally cleared up over the phone 2 days later.
Hoping for a better experience next time around.

This is the fourth time I rented from National at this Airport. Each time they have been very friendly, helpful, and fast. This is a small airport, so there is no Executive aisle, you do have to stand in line to get your car. However, the car was cranked and ready to go. Return process was quick.

I rent from National exclusively. As a VP of a company, I actually set the standard that our vertical use national only. Like any other time, I rented a car from National at Westchester. The service had always been outstanding in the past. For example, not this last time but the time before I rented from this site and the VP by the name believe of Kevin Howard. Tremendous guy, reflective of the kind of customer care National typically stands for. This past weeks experience was awful and my encounter with mark Hirsch was more in line of what you would see occur renting from a low level rental place. I called before I picked up my car at HPN airport and made changes, no additional fees. Not the case at HPN with Mark Hirsch. Mark was rude, wanted to charge me 100.00 more to return it elsewhere. All being an emerald member. Back to AVIS for my division and myself. Bad move putting him in front of the public. In 15 min he undid years of patronizing National rental.
