BG is not a locally run and operated…
BG is not a locally run and operated facility where resident care comes first. They are one of hundreds of facilities ran by Sunrise senior living-- where the bottom line comes first. They proudly tell you that they are just minutes away from Wake Forest Baptist hospital where your loved one can get proper medical attention. Unfortunately, the hospital is exactly what you will need for proper care. They tell you that their contracted MD visits the facility but, in reality, your loved one will never see him. Their contracting provider, PHV, will send one of seven physician assistants to bill you for no services rendered. 1 MD and 7 assistants? - would you accept this kind of doctor for your needs? No fire escapes, no emergency power - the only way out of a three story structure is by small slow elevators with no emergency power. An accident waiting to happen!
After weeks of trying to get proper medical attention for our loved one both verbally and in writing, our loved one called 911 and escaped from BG to the safety of Baptist Hospital where she received proper care which should have been well within the scope of services advertised by BG. When upon doctor's recommendations that we not return our loved one to BG, we advised BG that she would not be returning to BG - they insisted that she pay an additional 2 week residency charges for “improperly terminating” our contract. I thought our contract also required BG to provide medical services but apparently they can neglect their contract without financial responsibility. Their professional staff is totally indifferent to patient care or concerns expressed by the resident or family.
They will try to force you to use their pharmacy which will cost you dearly for otherwise over-the-counter medications. Their pharmacy reduces much of their time assembling medications for residents by packaging all of the residents’ medications into one package by time and date; thus eliminating their time and responsibility to dispense the residents’ medications themselves. This makes it convenient for the med techs to toss at single med pack in the residents’ room. This is why you pay up-charges for medication services?
Seriously, if you are thinking of sending your family member here ask to visit the facility when the medical providers are present and interview them for yourself. If they tell you they have a PHD, ask them from what institution and in what area of study their degree relates. Ask to see their emergency escape facilities and stand by power. Ask how much you will be billed when it becomes necessary to relocate your loved one to receive proper medical attention. Check out the local facilities first that have a real MD visiting the facility.

If you read a review by an employee, of course it is going to be good. They should not be reviewing on this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They don't go thru the things the family members go thru here. The employees here are here because they have nowhere else to go.
From the bottom to the top - they cover up so much "crap" and only support each other. The patients are the ones to suffer here. They let them roam around and then scold them for doing so. Don't they know why people are here??? If you have a family member who needs help, this is not the place to go. Be sure to check it out before you pay the EXTRA fees you will eventually be throwing away. BTW, the doctor was forced to leave this place because she was incompetent and was the reason my mother in law almost died.
CHECK OUT THIS FACILITY THOROUGHLY - COME AT ODD TIMES - BUT REALLY, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS TO A FACILITY THAT CARES AND DOES NOT COVER UP FALLS, DELAY ESSENTIAL MEDICAL TREATMENT, ETC. THAT IS THE WAY THIS FACILITY WORKS.
FROM DISGUSTED !!!!!!!!!!!!
