Carlton Arms Apartments

I have been living here at Carlton Arms of Winter Park for the past 9 years. I could not imagine living anywhere else and am extremely happy with the location.

While living at Carlton Arms I have never had to put in any real request for repairs. I have only had the carpet cleaned a few times. Other than that everything works great, and it is a wonderful place to call home.

I have been living here at Carlton Arms for about 30 years now and I am so happy here. The place is very clean and well taken care of and I really like everyone that lives in the community, its like a big family.

I love the AC unit in my apartment here at Carlton Arms, it is so nice I have that not all complexes have that. I not only love my apartment but the other facilities here are great as well, including laundry. I am a happy tenant.

Carlton Arms Winter Park is a great place to live. I lived here previously and I really liked it, I would have not returned if I did not enjoy it. I have been a happy tenant.

My apartment was scheduled to have a full remodel before I moved in. It had many maintenance issues when I moved it, laminate floor not laid correctly, broken kitchen drawers, leaking bathroom sink, moldy toilets with enamel coming off inside etc. Maintenance requests have been slow to nil in response (e.g. 2 months to fix kitchen drawers - I had fixed them myself; still have moldy toilets after over 6 months, took 5 times to fix bathroom sink). Staff were friendly and courteous in office before I moved in; they also lied about how background checks work for a fellow lease or occupant. After moving in, their communication and demeanor became non-courteous and hostile. They are inconsistent with following their own rules, choosing whom to enforce rules with. Also, they deny a clause in the application which says a husband and/or children may be added as occupant or to lease without additional background check. Safety is an issue; our next door neighbor had his car broken into and camera was available for footage. However, the manager told the neighbor he was too busy to get it for him. The same neighbor has moldy carpet when he moved in and the complex refused to remove it and replace it with clean floors and carpeting; after 3 months, he replaced the floor himself. The grounds and pool are not kept neat consistently with debris regular in the pool; also muddy sidewalks. I lived here 10 years ago and it was not like this. However, both then and now, the complex appears prejudice about race/ethnicity and marital status, preferring caucasian people and those whom are married or just completely single. If a couple is living together or engaged with wedding scheduled, they express their dislike and treat you accordingly. I had this 10 years ago when I moved in an apartment 6 weeks before my wedding; the front desk staff wanted to make sure I was only setting up my new home and would not live with my fiance until then. It is a quiet area so I will give them that; also Cady Way trail within a close distance.

In a few months, I will have been here for 7 months. This is the first time in my life that I didn't even think about moving out. There is not one thing bad to be said about this place. Beautiful!

I honestly didn't know that living in an apartment could be this nice! I love it here and my kids do too! Can't say one bad thing about the staff either. After shopping around I am glad that we found this complex!
