In 1979 Robert Mondavi came back to his boyhood home in Lodi. Having grown up on Pine Street, and familiar with the area’s reputation for producing excellent fruit, Robert looked to his home region to produce quality wine at an affordable price. The result is Woodbridge Winery: • The first winery in the region to convert to single label wine production; • The pioneer of the gentle direct-to-press operation for white wines; • The first winery in the super premium category to produce and vintage date varietally labeled wines and… • Now one of the top varietal wine brands in the United States.
