I spent three years at FHMS as a child, so when my husband got transferred here, the first thing I did was stop by their “new” campus and sign up my little ones. I don’t know about other’s experiences, but mine was AMAZING. I remember reading earlier than my cousins and my mom being extremely surprised by how far ahead I was academically when I finally transferred to “big kid school”, so I know the academics are great, but all I remember was having tons fun. I remember eating lunch on real tablecloths with little flower vases, making really great art projects (some of which my mom framed and still has), dancing with feathered boas and rhythm sticks, and really enjoying all the learning materials. Looking back, I can really appreciate how much trouble Ms. Marlowe went through to make school fun. We used to have our Halloween party at Stardust Skate Center (where we made our own scarecrows), pot-luck Christmas programs at the playgrounds at Cheehaw, and the end-of-year shows at various Country Clubs’ ballrooms (catered). I think one year the year-end-show (Little Mermaid??), was on the shores at River Pointe and they had the Flint River and a real pirate ship as the backdrop. I also remember the field trips – the “big” post office, the hospital, fire station, art museum, The Little Theatre, Krispy Kreme, Mark’s Mellon Patch, cotton gin, dairy farm, plays and symphonies at the municipal auditorium, the dog show on the Marine Base, story time at the “big” library downtown, and more I’m sure. I am so delighted that Ms. Marlowe and Ms. Isabel are still around for my children to have all the same great experiences I had.

Amazing school! We just found Far Horizons this past summer, and my two children have thrived. The teachers are warm and loving, and they have many parent-inlcuded events throughout the year that help bring a feeling of community among the families that attend. Love, Love, Love!! :)

not a good school, because i went there when i was 3 yrs old and believe me it stunk because while all the other kids were having fun doing activities i was sitting there in timeout even though i did not do anything bad. Whenever they did the dance thing, everytime i missed a step or fell down i got in trouble and you would have to hold on to mrs.marlow`s or mrs.isabellas`s beltloop and when you had to they wouldn`t let your child have their lunch and everytime u had a birthday party u had to invite the teacher to it.
