Neuromuscular Therapy
Have been diagnosed with herniated discs for 9 years. In addition to herniated discs, I have sciatica on my legs left and right side. This summer, I had intense nerve pain, running down my left leg and across my back. Western pain medicine doesn't relieve pain, so, I don't use it. Various holistic methods have been tried such as Chiropractic care, neuromuscular therapy, physical therapy and stretches. My last visit to my physician left me frustrated, I called Dr. Tao and wanted to see if acupuncture is beneficial. After the first treatment, my pain had decreased by 60-70%. I was able to sleep, move and been proven effective. Acupuncture has been proven effective for thousand years of years. I am thankful I decided to pick up the phone and call.

In my own experiences, I have found acupuncture combined with Chinese herbs to be very helpful in treating chronic pain, gastro-intestinal disorders, female diseases, allergies, skin diseases, mental illness, drug & alcohol withdrawal, and chronic fatigue, as well as those who wish to lose weight or stop smoking. Additionally, acupuncture can serve as a supplemental treatment and may help patients who experience G-I upset from medication, no improvement or relief from medication; or limited help from cortisone injections, physical therapy, or spinal adjustments.
Nutritional Consultation
This new license is not only entitled the practitioner could practice acupuncture but also in herbal medicine, nutritional consultation, diet and life style change to match the philosophy of oriental medicine. Previously, this part was belong to the scope of practice under the title of acupuncturist, however, some of this practitioner even not received the herbal education or exam to prove their competency in the field of herbal medicine. Now, it is my pleasure to see the Board moved toward the right direction to protect our consumers.
Subluxation
Am a 70-year-old retired RN worked for Hospital-critical care units, my previous job caused my scoliosis pain worse from the lifting and turning patients, pushing stretchers to surgical floors plus pushing beds with the patient and lots of euipment to critical care units. My Chiropractor found I have subluxation at T10, C1, L5, the sacrum and hip, however, his treatment failed and my back pain increased, the pain medication Tylenol took in daily basis and physical therapy ordered by my orthopedist also not help me.

I am Chung-Hu, Tao, a licensed and certified acupuncturist at the Tao's Acupuncture & Herbs Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I have practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal Medicine In since 1985, and in Allentown, PA since Feb.,1995. I hold a Master's degree from Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles. I am a licensed acupuncturist in Pennsylvania, and I am also licensed in New York and California - the highest professional standard in U.S. In addition, I am a Board certified diplomat in Chinese herbs by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists (NCCA).

Disc Herniation Treatment
"I never truly understand the phrase "excruciating pain" until I injured my back and experienced the effects of a herniated disc, the MRI shows I have a large disc herniation in my right L4-L5 & L5-S1. Physically, I suffered from intense hip and leg pain in the middle of the night. I could not stand, walk, sit or sleep without feeling some degree of pain.
