Potential Buyer Beware! We recently adopted a sweet loving kitty at Seahorse, who it turns out had fleas, which she carried home to our adult cat. Not what you’d expect in purchasing a pure-bred cat for $600 ! The employee (who cared for the kitten) was very kind, but did not inform us of a possible issue with fleas. We reported the problem to her 2 days later, and she admitted that she knew that our kitty’s littermate (also for sale at Seahorse) has fleas. Yet after bathing our kitty, the employee put her right in the cage with her littermate for over 2 hours before we arrived to pick her up. Seahorse should have an isolation / waiting area for this purpose, so the adopted pet can’t be re-infested by other animals. Now we need to treat 2 cats for 2 months, at our own expense.

We simply WANTED THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE in adopting this kitten. Had we known about this issue, we could have either looked elsewhere for a healthy kitten, or we could have been proactive in treating the kitten immediately after bringing her into our home.

Read the pet adoption disclaimer carefully! "If for any reason in the first 3 days I am unwilling or unable to keep this pet, I may request that it be returned. AT SEAHORSE'S DISCRETION, SEAHORSE MAY AGREE TO ACCEPT THE ANIMAL BACK, BUT NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED". This is not a good business practice. (Doesn't give you a warm and fuzzy feeling does it?)

By the way, the vet check also revealed that our kitten has an internal parasite (another surprise), and there is a risk of her infecting our adult cat with this parasite. Seahorse has agreed to pay for the initial treatment of the parasite for the kitten only.

We bought our cat Tobey, a golden tabby about 15 years ago. He was very loving and very smart! We spent many days wandering around buying hamsters, crabs, a parakeet named Crystal... and lots of fish for my daughter's fish tank. She is a photojournalist/diver now and her love of fish started when her Dad gave her an aquarium at the age of 10. Highly recommend this shop and we visit when we come to town from Florida..Thanks Seahorse for wonderful memories!!

First off. I am an avide Salt Water Fish Hobbiest. I dedicate quite a bit of money to the trade and care dearly for my Fish. I walked into this facility and niticed right away off the stentch of fecal matter. The store was in total disarray and unorganized. Even though the store is decorated and pleasent for the eye to look at....it wears quickly when i cant find an item i like. Secondly, the Salt water fish in the store are kept in 4 by 4 square boxes lined up next to one another all over the back end of the store. CAN WE SAY ANIMAL CRULETY?? Salt Water fish aren't Bettas!! they cannot survive long in those living quarters. Every fish i have ever seen there was ICK covered or showing signs of extreme stress. Thirdly, The employees that work there are all in high school. These individuals had nothing better to do than to hang out at the cash register flirting with the girls behind the counter. They weren't knowledgable about the animals and couldn't help with any questions about any product they carried...just what shelf it was on. I couldn't get any assistance whatsoever so decided to take a stroll to see the kittens. those poor animals were playing with their own fecal matter and started showing tell tale signs of feline lukemia. I became so appaled that i left imediatley never to return. TAKE YOUR SERVICES TO WET PETS. ITS A SHORT DRIVE FROM THERE AND MUCH BETTER SERVICES.

After just visiting seahorse for the first time a few days ago, I can honestly say that I was very impressed! I live not too far away and my husbands co-worker recommended we check it out. I was surprised at how clean the store was, and how warm and friendly all of the employees were to me and my 3 children. ( who were so excited about getting their very first pet!) They had a great selection of adorable hamsters and gerbils, and my kids just loved being able to spend time with their hamster before deciding which one to get. They had these really cute colorful cages and all kinds of "hamster accessories", we all had so much fun setting up a habitat for our newest family member "skittles" :) The girl that was helping us out was so sweet and patient with us! They also had really nice looking fish and the puppies they had were so cute. We all enjoyed looking at all the neat things they have there!! I would definitely recommend this store to anyone who is looking for that special pet to add to their family! I don't think my family will be shopping anywhere else for our pet needs!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about this store and its employees. They take such good care of their pets and they respect the customers. I only do my shopping at Seahorse.

I urge you not to purchase anything from these people if you value good customer service. This place has very hurtful and mean employees. They lie to you and then they do not take any responsibility for their actions. The way they run their business is completely unethical and they are unfair to their customers. They would greatly benefit from new owners, new management and a new staff.
