Anacortes Telescope & Wild Bird

I have never written a review but after today I had to. In February of 2011 I purchased a Walther PK380 from them. My wife needed a gun that fit her for when I was deployed. I deployed before we could take it for a spin. I just got back from my deployment a couple weeks ago and finally got a chance to test it out. It jammed up ever 3rd round and every 2nd round fired. I could not get more than 3 rounds in a row fired out of it. If this gun was needed in a life or death situation the holder of this gun would be screwed. I got 3 different types of ammo to see if it was just the ammo being used. That’s not even the bad part. I called them up to let them know what was going on. The women who answered were not being polite what so ever. It takes a lot to get on my nerves and make me mad. Their customer service is bad. She then got the So Called Gun Guy. His first words to me were with straight attitude and disrespect. He wouldn’t even let me finish a sentence without interrupting me and being a total jerk about the whole thing. I told them that I got it in February and his exact words are” its November how’s that my fault?” Oh I am sorry the Army likes to deploy the infantry. (I understand, but LISTEN TO WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY then if you don’t like what I have to say be a jerk if you would like.) I was then told that the gun I was sold was used. That of course was news to me. There was nothing on the gun but a price. There was nothing saying or showing USED what so ever. BUT of course they said that all of their used guns are marked used and no one makes mistakes and could never have it not marked as used.
I know for a fact that it didn’t say used. Everything in the box was brand new and still in the original wrappers. It looked factory new. This gun looks great. Works like crap. I would have to say that they do not test fire the guns they are selling as used. The thing that makes me the most P O is the fact that they are speaking to me like I am idiot, and when you are frustrated at being ripped off and someone is talking to you like you are an A whole it doesn’t help for repeat business. I will not be buying the .22 from them that I was planning on. After the way they treated and shafted me with no respect, willingness to listen, compromise, or just plain be accommodating. I will never do business there ever again and I hope no one else ever has the problems I am having with them. I have had many e-mails going back and forth after leaving a review on Google, and I tried to get to the point that there is a problem with the gun THEY SOLD ME and it needs to be resolved. I was told to take my problem else were and never to return to the store ever again. I was then told that it is ok because his wife was an Army brat. Because that makes it all better doesn’t it? I have learned a 300.00 Dollar lesson. Support the places you are used to and don’t buy a gun in a Telescope Shop. Even if they have gotten into the gun business doesn’t make them gun people. Stick with Kesselring's gun shop. They are just jerks if your not being talked to. Once you give them some money on the other hand they back up everything. I even spoke to them and they told me “Even if you were not told it was used and it had this problem we would have fixed if up for you or resolved the problem any way we could that made you happy. If it was the 25th time you shot it or the 1st time you shot it we would have fixed the problem for you. “ Buying a gun no matter how long ago it was the first time you shoot it you should be able to get more than 3 rounds in a row out of it. They don’t stand by what they sell. Their customer service doesn’t exist on the phone or in E-mail form. At least in the E-mails you can show how much they are un-willing to help out a customer.

This appears to be a pawn shop largely dealing in guns not telescopes. What they had on the floor the two times I came in were the same as before, store/demos/used and overpriced. The guy behind the counter was too busy talking guns with some buddy to bother with a prospective astro customer. Others in the astro club I'm a member of have had the same experience. I'd avoid this store!

Bought a $2300 telescope from Anacortes that was defective. Manufacturer agreed to accept the scope for return and sent UPS call tags for pickup. Manufacturer received scope and asked Anacortes to refund my money. It has been a month and still have not received refund. Filed a complaint with the BBB and they ignored it and never responded.
