Pier 1 Imports

The staff is great at this Pier 1. We had bought one of their 'pagoda style' deck umbrellas and it was destroyed in a storm 2 days before the 30 day return policy expired. I don't believe that they had to do anything about it since it was broken in a storm but, the person I spoke to @ http://Pier1.com was so pleasant and sympathetic that she personallycontacted the folks @ the McKenna store in Arden, NC and they were also very pleasant and helpful and wanted to make sure that they still had a brand new one in stock. They did and told us to come pick it up at our convenience. We were a bit taken taken aback at this level of 'excellent' customer service from a large retail chain. You know how it is these days with most associates at any of the big chain stores! Most of them would not pee in your ear if your brain was on fire!

Come to find out that the McKenna store is a 'Select Pier 1' store. Which means that they get all of the newest things Pier 1 has to offer. We had not been Pier 1 shoppers for many years because, our furnishing style had changed and we equated Pier 1 with a ultra casual bohemian, morrocan or beachy look. Not so! They carry something for everyone now. Their distressed, shabby chic, casual, contemporary and borderline formal furnishings abound. We are definitely renewed fans and shoppers of this store.
