Prior to joining the firm, Chuck was the Director of the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC), leading the state agency responsible for training and advising all state-level judges on legal and ethical issues, as well as investigating and prosecuting complaints of judicial misconduct. Before being named Director of the JQC, Chuck was the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney for Cobb County, Georgia, responsible for supervising the Special Victims Unit, Office Training, and other divisions in the office. Chuck previously served as a homicide, major case, and special victims prosecutor in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and as a prosecutor in the Coweta Judicial Circuit. Chuck has also briefed and argued numerous cases before the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Restraining Order
An owner in a food-related business who was defrauded by the majority owner of the company in a scheme to transfer assets out of the company. We filed suit and immediately obtained a restraining order against the defendants and an order for expedited discovery. One of the individual defendants was incarcerated as a result of failing to comply with discovery and Court Orders. The case settled very favorably for our client.

Danielle graduated from Florida State University with a degree in political science and a minor in international affairs. She then earned her JD from Emory University School of Law where she was the Editor-in-Chief of Emory’s Corporate Governance and Accountability Review (ECGAR). During her time on ECGAR, the journal published her Note, Entwinement: Why Sororities and Fraternities Should be Subject to the Constitution, 8 Emory Corp. Governance and Accountability Rev. (2020).
Business Disputes
We represented a leading provider in contact center technology solutions in connection with a variety of contract disputes. In a recent arbitration, in which our client was sued for breach of contract and unjust enrichment, our client counterclaimed to enforce a contractual notice and cure provision. After a week-long arbitration with JAMS, our client obtained a dismissal of all claims against it plus a seven-figure award for breach of contract damages.

Intellectual Property
During law school, Danielle also externed for the DeKalb Solicitor General’s Office, Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, and Cobb County District Attorney’s Office where she helped prosecute cases in the Special Victim’s Unit. Danielle is also TI:GER certified and was selected by Microsoft to complete an intellectual property fellowship founded by both the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Microsoft Intellectual Property Law Institute.

Wrongful Termination
We represented a longtime technology client in a JAMS arbitration against a former customer for wrongful termination of a multi-year service agreement. After the arbitration hearing, the arbitrator awarded our client over $1 million.
Employment Contract
Represented a client who challenged the enforceability of a restrictive covenant in an employment contract with his former employee under Georgia’s revised restrictive covenant statutes. This case settled pursuant to an agreement that allowed our client to continue to work for his new employer.
Employment Litigation
Michael joined the firm after practicing at an employment litigation firm, where he handled wage‑and‑hour, discrimination, and retaliation cases, among other matters. Before entering private practice in August 2020, Michael was a staff attorney for the Federal Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, where he worked on over 150 cases.
Non-compete Agreement
Outside of litigation, Josh has significant experience in in campaign finance and election law matters. He represents entities governed by federal and state campaign finance laws, including campaigns and political action committees. Brian joined the firm in October 2016. Previously, Brian practiced with Freeman, Mathis & Gary, LLP, where he focused on commercial and construction litigation. Brian has experience practicing before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level. Brian has also represented clients in a number of alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitration and mediation. Prior to entering private practice, Brian was a judicial law clerk to The Honorable William T. Moore, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

Real estate transactions and real estate financing can be complex, particularly since multiple parties and large sums of money are generally involved in any real estate deal. Unfortunately, this inevitably leads to a fair number of legal disputes arising from real estate purchases, sales and financing. When difficult contractual issues are front and center, the parties involved simply may not be able to settle such disputes on their own.
Eminent Domain
Our attorneys have one of Georgia’s deepest and broadest knowledge bank of state eminent domain law. One of our attorneys is a leading expert on recovering lost profits in business condemnation cases and has spoken and continues to speak at numerous conferences across the country. Another drafted the landmark 2006 Georgia legislation that overhauled the State’s eminent domain laws. Prior to law school, Matt worked for Operation New Birmingham, a public-private partnership promoting residential and commercial development in Birmingham’s city center. For ten years, Matt has represented businesses large and small – from Fortune 500 companies to startups and individual entrepreneurs – in high-stakes commercial litigation in courts from Georgia to California to Nova Scotia, and points in between. Matt has represented clients in real estate disputes, debtor-creditor disputes, and business divorces, plus suits over government contracts, professional liability, employment issues, and product liability. A particular focus of Matt’s practice involves the representation of clients in all aspects of real estate development, including lenders, builders, developers, landlords, and tenants. Matt recently successfully represented a commercial real estate developer against a lender involving a disputed debt of $3 million. Matt also recently represented a major Atlanta student housing developer in a contract dispute regarding a set of parcels near Kennesaw State University. Craig’s practice focuses on business litigation in federal and state courts as well as matters relating to administrative and government law. Craig represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of complex disputes, including business tort, real estate, business divorce/partnership and fiduciary, trust and estate, RICO, and restrictive covenant litigation. He also has significant administrative and government law experience, including representing clients who were investigated by the Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection for alleged violations of the Fair Business Practices Act and representing clients with regard to campaign finance matters.

Tax Law
We represented an Atlanta businessman and his construction company, which had set up what was described as a “highly tax-advantaged pension plan” with the assistance of a financial planner and insurance broker. Our client paid into the plan for five years before being audited by the IRS, which resulted in our client being assessed nearly $2 million in taxes and penalties.
