Since 1883, we have helped many people in western Wisconsin make a successful transition after going through a divorce. Our experience ranges from handling uncontested divorces to those involving intense disputes over child custody and property division. Whatever your situation, we are committed to helping you navigate the legal system in a manner that enables you to move forward in a positive manner.
Child Support
Generally, when a divorce case is started, the parties will attend a temporary order hearing with the family court commissioner. At this hearing, the commissioner will issue several temporary orders – usually regarding child support, maintenance, use of the marital home, legal custody and child support. If you disagree with the temporary order of the court commissioner, you may request a de novo review. That is, a hearing with the Circuit Court Judge to re-hear the issues and enter a new temporary order. This is done without deference to the initial order from the court commissioner. There are, however, strict timelines for requesting a de novo review, and they may vary depending on which county you are in. Contact an attorney to discuss your rights as soon as possible following the temporary order hearing if you wish to explore a de novo review.
Child Custody and Visitation
Guardianship
Prior to joining the firm, Allyson worked with a law firm in River Falls, Wisconsin where she specialized in guardianships, family matters, municipal prosecution, and general litigation. Allyson has also worked as a Judicial Assistant for Dunn County Circuit Court, where she engaged in detailed casework in the areas of family, criminal, probate, and civil matters, including general litigation as an attorney.
If you face criminal charges in Wisconsin, the best investment you can make is to hire a highly skilled criminal defense attorney. Your freedom and your future are on the line. Individuals who are convicted may be incarcerated in prison or jail, placed on probation, fined, or a combination of both. There are collateral consequences for criminal convictions including loss of the 2nd Amendment, right to possess a firearm, sex offender registration, loss of driver’s privilege, and other consequences.

Hit and Run
I was a pedestrian in a hit and run car accident that caused me two months in a walker/wheelchair and rest home, and five months of home care. I shopped around for a lawyer – turned down by many, citing “it’s too small claim amount to fuss with, it’s my fault,” and other excuses. Kate Bosworth took on all the problems. It was a legal and financial mess, with no way out that I could see. When no one else could help me, Kate Bosworth achieved all goals with a policy limits settlement! I recommend Doar, Drill & Skow and Kate Bosworth to all, to everyone with a legal, insurance and financial dispute.

Power of Attorney
An estate plan usually consists of a will, powers of attorney for health care and finances. It may also include a revocable trust. These documents either provide for an agent to act for you in the event you become incapacitated or provide how your assets should be distributed upon your death.
Estate planning is essential for every adult regardless of age, health, or net worth. Everyone should have at least basic estate planning documents in place in the event of an untimely death or incapacity from an accident or illness. A well-crafted estate plan, with the assistance of estate planning attorneys, enables you to achieve your goals of properly transitioning your property and investments to your heirs in a cost-effective way. It also provides proper tax planning and gives you and your family peace of mind.
