Ackerman and Baynes, founded in 1945, is a manufacturer of structural steel, sheet metal and steel plate fabrications. This women-owned business manufactures tanks, hoppers, bins, cyclones, stacks, elevator casings, machinery guards, light and heavy gauge ductwork, chutes, ladders, platforms, stairs and handrails. It maintains an inventory of angle, flatbar, channel, beam, pipe, tube, HRS sheet and plate, aluminum and stainless sheet and plate, and expanded metal. Ackerman and Baynes provide visual and dye penetrate weld inspection in accordance with the structural welding code prescribed by the American Welding Society. The company has the capability to fabricate from all types of materials such as, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and alloys. The firm has headquarters in Baltimore.
