Thank goodnes for open admission shelters like this one! Staff is knowledgeable and compassionate. They truly understand the needs of all animals. My husband and I appreciate their assistance.

They were very helpful when we found a cat and her newborn kittens by the side of the road. We live in another county and tried three other places before we finally found this shelter. The staff was caring and welcoming. We ended up adopting one of the kittens after they were weaned! Great shelter!!

The SCHS is one of the only open admissions shelters in the area. They turn no animal away, including wildlife. People that find sick or injured animals (usually cats or kittens) drive to other shelters only to be turned away (they are full they say, or they have "enough" cats). When they finally find out about SCHS, these people are incredibly relieved. Someone will finally help.

This is one of the only open admissions shelter in the entire state of Wisconsin. We are very lucky to have the shelter in our community where they put the welfare of the animals before anything else. They never turn an animal away, even if it's injured, old or near death. The surrounding shelters routinely turn animals away.

My wife and I adopted a dog from here and were very impressed with how thorough and professional everyone was. The shelter was clean and everyone really cares for the animals. Highly recommend it!

This prison environment. for these poor. defenseless animals is a joke. The discrimination practices. run rampant. here.Dana Madalon treats potential. adoptees like criminals.Look at their. rating,it's 1 of the lowest. rated shelters. in Wisconsin. Please ask yourselfs why that is?Please go to the petition website and. read all of the discrimination practices are involved in and make up your own mind.Hopefully you will sign it and help rid this shelter of this BITCH once and for all.THANK-YOU

I adopted a cat from SCHS and it was a great experience. I've been a volunteer there for years and they've never claimed to be a "no kill" shelter. Unlike "no kill" shelters, they don't turn around and dump cats back to the outdoors to fend for themselves and die horrible deaths. They don't turn animals away in their time of need, unlike other shelters in the area.

These people told my grandma that they are a NO KILL shelter. My grandma resuces cats all over town and cares for them, get them fixed, tame them down and then finds home for them. She had over 30 cats and it was getting to much she called around to find a no kill shelter. They told her that if they cant place them they give them to another county cause they have a high record of placing animals. SO grandma took 20 cats there. She sent 3 that she promised to a little girl and her family, so they went back to get them and they said they dont give them back so my grandpa offered to buy them back and they admitted to putting every single cat down. There was nothing wrong with these cats. IT was not even 24 hours from the time they brought them there they had killed every single cat.NO KILL SHELTER LIARS!!!
