Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge, also known as FSGBR, is a private social service agency that annually serves more than 14,000 families and individuals. The agency offers AIDS education, counseling and testing services. It also provides assistance with the prevention and early identification of HIV infection. Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge s family preservation program provides in-home therapy services for youths on probation. In addition, the agency operates a child and family counseling center that assists with the treatment and prevention of anger, grief, anxiety, depression, temper tantrums and oppositional behavior. Its art therapists have expertise in psychological theories and visual arts. Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge organizes workshops for parents, teachers and community groups to enhance their knowledge and skills in the areas of parenting and child development and abuse prevention.
