Sullivan's Steakhouse

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS PLACE!! Not only a great atmosphere, but the drinks and food...fabulous. This is not a chain. That's the one statement I always look to. The food was really good. I had the seafood and my man had the STEAK. Really, the sides were rich and the food just right. I must say, "...try the KNOCK OUT Martini..." The name is terrible becuase this is not a collegiate-get slammed-drink. It's a rich martini infused fruit drink for adults ONLY! My only comment towards improvement is....my sea bass was perfectly cooked but the nice crust was too salty for me. The broccoli...OMG..flavors without being wilted were slamming...but again too salty. The sweet pot. casserole....lovely. Not too sweet (like the syrup-marshmellow-candid yuck) was "above-board." Sullivans, get your salt under control and you will blow Jubans, Flemmings, Mansurs, Ruth's out the water. We viisited for our anniversary and found a new favorite. Lastly, Mr. Wine Guy on 10/01/2011...We'd love to see you write a blog...really...get started now!!!!!

I used to frequent this Sullivan's...although the food wasn't outstanding, the atmosphere was still good, and the GM Leo was doing a great job running the place. Since he's left, I have been back twice, and MAN this place has gone downhill!! About a month ago, I was there for drinks and our cocktailer was completely incompetent..she spilled a couple drinks right by our feet and didn't apologize OR clean it up! And later she gave me the wrong drink and didn't come back for 20 min...I had to go get another at the bar myself. Then last week I went to eat, and had a terrible meal...the food was cold, and waitress had no clue what to do. We asked for our favorite manager Fabian, and we were informed he had been let go. BIG mistake! HE seemed to be the only one other than Leo who knew what the hell he was doing!! This was a huge disappointment.

They seem to have hired an incredibly incompetent GM and staff and gotten rid of the only people who worked!! I will definitely NOT be going here anymore....there are far better places in Baton Rouge to get a decent meal in a great atmosphere with GOOD service. If any of that is important to you at a restaurant, DO NOT go here! I'd recommend Fleming's or Ruth's Chris over sullivan's in a heartbeat!
