My 13 year old daughter has been a patient for close to a year. Dr. Bandeen and his staff are the best! I cannot stress enough what a great experience it has been. Friendly, fast, affordable, and welcoming.

YouÂ shouldÂ clean your retainers daily by soaking them in lukewarm water with a denture cleaning tablet according to box instructions. Also, brush your retainer with a soft bristle toothbrush and water after cleaning them with the tablet. Donâ€™t use toothpaste; just use the denture cleaning tablets and toothbrush with water.

Understanding dental development is part of the speciality of orthodontics.Â The dynamic nature of growth can be a complex process which typically results in lots of questions both from families and from the dental community.Â We often see patients who have a single important question: â€œIs this normal?â€ Â We like to see patients early to be able to answer questions about what is normal and what is not.Â We frequently see patients who were told that they would definitely need to start orthodontic treatment right away only to have us explain that their dental development is normal and that they can wait to start treatment.Â Other times, we have told patients that they should start treatment to address specific concerns that, if not addressed, will result in larger problems.Â The cases shown here demonstrate some patients who were told that they can wait and other who should have started treatment.
Invisalign Orthodontics
With a mouth scanner, light is bounced off of the teeth and captured in the wand to generate a 3D computer model of your teeth without the need for gooey impression materials. Once we have a 3D computer model of your teeth, we can it for (1) your custom treatment plans with Insignia or with Invisalign or (2) we can even print the models on our 3D printers in order to make your retainers! Â Printing the computer models only takes about an hour and is done right in our office.
Braces
There are times that people are said to have â€œsmall jawsâ€ and a lot of people think that this will mean that early braces and/or removal of teeth is needed.Â In reality, having â€œsmall jawsâ€ is actually rather rare, and the need to remove teeth is also rare.Â More often than not, a person might have narrowness of the dental arches which can be corrected with orthodontic treatment (braces or retainers).Â In other words, the teeth and/or the jaws may be narrow but that can be corrected.Â Orthodontic treatment can address the issues of crowding (lack of space for teeth) with expansion.Â Modern orthodontic treatment can correct the issues without using palatal expanders.Â Palatal expanders are an old and very uncomfortable method of treatment.Â We can now provide expansion without the palatal expander.Â Take a look at the treatments shown on these pages to see how modern orthodontic treatment should be done.Â Notice that teeth were not removed and palatal expanders were not used.

Teeth Whitening
With the Smart Retainers program, four sets of invisible retainers are provided when you finish your orthodontic treatment. If you request teeth whitening trays, they would count as one of the four sets. The first four sets of retainers are typically included with your orthodontic treatment.
General Dentistry
In late 2009, Dr, Emily Bandeen, wife of Dr. Tim Bandeen, became a part of Bandeen Orthodontics. Dr. Emily is a general dentist who has brought her own skills and abilities to our office that help immensely with your orthodontic care.Â Dr. Emily does not see patients for general dentistry at our office as we are a specialty office focusing on orthodontic care.
