perfect place to relax and have wonderful dining on the veranda or by the fireplace. i frequent The grenville very often! Very warm, friendly owners and staff. Rooms are smaller clean and fresh. carpet is clean and so are the walls. Food is excellent as the Zagat Awards on their wall states "EXCELLENT" Dont listen to people that have nothing better to do than complain and want everything for nothing and than even something more. I recommend to everyone. I used coupons and got great deal for room when I called.

Overall
Unique and Charming !!!

Before making my decision on where to stay for the weekend (just to get away) I was actually very hesitant after reading some of the horrible reviews on the place, but after reading some good reviews, I decided what the heck...I'll give it a shot. I was very glad I did, because we had the best time!!! I think it all depends on the type of person you are.... You can't go to 120 year old building and expect it to be The Ritz - Carlton!! We actually found the staff there to be VERY accomodating, and sweet as ever!!! We found everything to be clean and organized and believe me, because after reading some of these, we were definitly looking for it!!! So I think you should give the Grenville a Chance, and relax and enjoy your time away, we did and we will definitly go back again!!!!!!!!!

Overall
Never go there! Zero hospitality

Never go to the Grenville Inn, it's far from the way it used to be since they sold it to pleople that are cheap, rude and careless. We were there back in 2003 and absolutely loved our stay. Everything was clean, upkept, excellent management, great food in the restaurant, totally worth it. We just went back now in 2008 to find out that the new management is horrible in every aspect you can possibly imagine. Workers are rude, they show zero hospitality, the place in totally NOT maintained, the carpet is all ripped up, and here is where it gets even worse: There is NO breakfast at the Bed and Breakfast! I'm serious, there is no food there. Their "continental breakfast" is nothing more that two EMPTY coffee dispensers, and some dried out muffins that sit out in the open. No one comes to clean and restock for the next guests either, it's disgusting. We had to walk to eat breakfast somewhere else. Needless to say we did not even consider having dinner there after that morning. As a matter of fact, we did not even stay there the second night because the room had NO AIR CONDITIONER. It was a holiday weekend during summer and we prefered to come home instead and lose our money. That's how bad it was. Our house is a lot more comfortable than that unfortunate place. You will not feel welcome, believe me, you are better off never going there. Everything so so bad and unorganized that it did not even make sense complaining about how terrible their service. Although the night rate there is not cheap, the service certainly is. They have no respect and cosideration for the guests.
