Ive been to this hospital a total of 2 times and some of the psychs here should NOT be mental health doctors. In this hospital program they do teach patients about mental illness but for how some treat their patients it's ridiculous. Dr. tajani was really impersonal, stuck up and did not listen to me as a patient at all so went to Dr Kahn and she was better than Tajani but has no patience if you do not follow her pill shoving methods. I've heard good about Dr Brophy and Dr Ouseph. I went inpatient second time and only went because they said they can "modify" my medications quicker. The scene inside inpatient wasn't bad except some of the patients I hate to say this- seemed to have been over medicated and worse off before they came in. The nursing staff during the day seemed nice, at night??? I would suggest stay in your room because you can tell they hate their job and especially one tall blonde nurse in particular who looks like Uma Thurman was a snot. During visitation it seemed they made the skitzafranics stay in their rooms so they wouldn't "weird" out the visators. Left probably worse than before coming :/ this hospital may be better than the others I've heard about, but be aware especially if your dr is messing up with your meds im sure they'll cover their asses as much as they can just like any other medical dr. In any case- protect your loved ones mentally sick or not, and it's harder to without taking legal action sometimes when they are inpatients.

Was treated like I was crazy and just a #. Dr took me off my antidepressant without asking or letting me know. Drs are uncaring. I felt like I was in a mental crazy house and I was only there to detox.

I totally agree with the man who reviewed Dr Kahn. She should NOT be in business! She forces medications without knowing enough about the patient. Her notes lack facts and are unorganized and incorrect dosages and rx are noted. She never spends more than ten minutes with patients and she is rude and blaming. I do not understand why she is allowed to work in this facility!!!

My wife and I took our 17 year old son to Springwood HEB for sudden severe depression including some recent suicidal thoughts as well. When we arrived with him and completed the "evaluation" and all decided he'd go "in-patient", we initially agreed. During the in-take in the "unit" a nurse asked us to complete a large amount of paperwork. In this paperwork we clearly marked several pertinent details about his past, losses he'd suffered, etc... And that he'd been extensively tested at Cook Children’s and Scottish Rite Hospitals and was ADHD and had been taking Adderall since he was 6. Well established and working med for him. BEFORE the assigned doctor, Dr. Khan, had seen him or even seen any of the paperwork, the nurse came in and handed him a 50mg dose of Zoloft!!!! I stopped her and asked what was going on! She said the doctor had diagnosed him with extreme anxiety and that Zoloft would stabilize him!!!! I WAS SHOCKED! I went back and forth with this nurse for an hour about that fact that the doctor had no prior history and hadn't yet seen our son, much less discussed her "diagnosis" with my wife or I. The nurse insisted that if we didn't agree with this that we couldn't enroll our son! To which my son became extremely upset, so against my better judgment, I acquiesced and allowed for the initial dose, with the proviso that Dr. Khan would call me personally the very next day to discuss in detail. She didn't call. I left 17 UNANSWERED messages for her over the next 7 days while my son continued to decline! He developed serious depression, insomnia and a host of other issues as a DIRECT RESULT of Dr. Khan and the "staff" at Springwood HEB. Do not accept her as the assigned doctor! *****You MUST ADVOCATE for your child there! They WILL NOT DO SO. It is at best, adolescent daycare for about $10,000 a week. **Do not expect any one on one time. It will be group discussions which expose your child to the evils of this world, with the bare minimums of physical safety at best. In our case, ZOLOFT for a teen was the worst possible choice!

DONT GO HERE! I was in an accident and was taken by the ambulance to this hell hole!I was stuck in a room that apparently doubled as a closet, and was there for an hour before anyone came in to see me! Even at that, it was just a nurse who came in and told me to leave! NOBODY checked me over, asked if I was ok, and there definately was never any Doctor that came in to look me over!!! The nurse that came in was very hateful and nasty, and had a very degrading tone in her voice! I was still reeling from the accident and tried finding my way out of that damned place...and wondered around for 30 minutes before I found my way out! I didnt find ANYONE around to help me either! There was NOBODY at the front desk or anywhere near the lobby. I couldnt find a human being ANYWHERE to help me out. I couldnt even find a phone I could use to call for a taxi or for a friend to come pick me up!I ended up having to WALK HOME!!!! Nazi's had better manners and professionalism!!!!!
