If you're looking for great chinese in the Belvidere / Rockford area, I recommend Lung Fung in Belvidere. They have a wide and varied menu of chinese and spicy cantonese dishes, served piping hot and nicely presented. My favorites are the orange chicken or the black pepper beef and my girlfriend just loves the chicken kow. Their egg rolls and crab rangoons are great too. The lunch specials are an awesome deal too and will fill you up. The staff is friendly and the place is clean and has a neat 1970's look about it. Give them a try...
