“PHAST” Lipo is a technique Dr. Koplin uses which optimally prepares the fat for removal and sculpts the treated areas to assure maximal smoothness and skin tightening. Dr. Koplin has been using and perfecting this technique for many years, and finds it better, safer and much more controllable than “laser” procedures such as Smart or Slim Lipo. Instead of “melting” fat with laser or ultrasound before removal (which can leave dead fat cells following liposuction), the fat is softened and loosened by using a special cannula, similar to shaking a tree to get ripe fruit off before harvest. Following fat removal using a thin, delicate cannula, the sculpting is continued by using the special cannula to allow the remaining fat to be massaged and molded into a smooth protective healing layer. Dr. Koplin calls this “auto-liposhift”, where the small, free fat particles can find their way into areas where they can nourish and soften the healing process. The auto-liposhift also allows the skin to tighten and reshape itself to the new underlying contour.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972. Brow Lift
Browpexy is the concept of lifting the central and outer portion of the eyebrow, just enough to “open up” the eyelid so it looks more rested and youthful. This is different from the traditional brow lift, which elevates the entire eyebrow, often the inner portion more than the rest. Blepharoplasty

Abdominoplasty
During a typical tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), Dr. Koplin makes a very low horizontal incision just above the pubic area. He then makes a second incision to free your navel from surrounding tissue. Next, Dr. Koplin tightens the vertical muscles in your abdomen, providing a firmer abdominal wall and narrowing the waistline. He removes all excess skin and creates a new opening for your navel. Dr. Koplin may be able to remove all of the skin that contains stretch marks below the belly button! Finally, he makes a new opening for the umbilicus (which he can make smaller, prettier and sexier), closes the incisions and applies dressings. He may insert a temporary tube to remove excess fluid from the surgical site.

Under Dr. Cronin’s tutelage, Dr. Koplin received specialized experience in all aspects of breast surgery, including augmentation (placement of implants), reduction, uplifts and reconstruction following mastectomy.

In January 2009, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons released a finding: Using fat transfer and fat injection is both safe and effective as a cosmetic and reconstructive procedure. In their paper, Fat Transfer/Fat Graft and Fat Injection, the ASPS Guiding Principles, they said, “This technique works well for breast and gluteal augmentation, repair of contour deformities, facial augmentation, hand rejuvenation and lip augmentation.”
Body Contouring
Liposuction is most commonly recommended for men and women of normal weight who simply want to improve their body contour. If you have deposits of excess fat that make certain body areas appear disproportionately large, this surgical body contouring procedure can produce excellent results. Although liposuction is not a treatment for obesity, it can permanently alter body shape and is the only way to eliminate fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise.

Dermabrasion
All skin resurfacing procedures remove the old outer layer of skin to reveal the newer, younger-looking skin underneath. Peels work via the use of chemicals. Dermabrasion essentially sands down the skin. CO2 laser skin resurfacing uses a high-technology, controlled, precise laser beam. This procedure produces much less discomfort than other methods, and can target specific areas more effectively and safely. While the CO2 laser is most often used to reduce lines and wrinkles, it has many applications.
Chin Augmentation
The goal of chin augmentation is to make the chin stronger and more pronounced. Usually, a surgeon uses chin implants to augment the area. Surgery in the chin area can also reduce the size of a chin that is too prominent by shaving off some of the bone.

Chemical Peels
Dr. Koplin may decide that the best approach for removing fat from the lower eyelid is with a transconjuctional blepharoplasty. In this procedure, an incision is hidden inside the lower eyelid. This technique requires no external incision, but it cannot be used to remove excess skin. The fat beneath the eye may often be redistributed through this technique as well! Laser resurfacing or chemical peel can be used in conjunction with this procedure to minimize fine wrinkles around the eyes. Dr. Koplin is also well-known for transferring stem-cell rich fat into this area for correcting hollowness, plumping the skin and establishing a healthy, oxygen-rich blood supply.
Skin Care
