Liposuction is the surgical vacuuming of fat from beneath the surface of the skin. It is used to reduce fullness in any area of the body. It is an excellent method of spot reduction but is not an effective method of weight loss.

Many women have changes to their abdomen with childbirth and with weight changes. We evaluate everyone’s abdomen individually to determine if they have extra fat, extra skin and possibly abdominal wall weakness. We try to treat only the problem areas that one has. If you have loose skin and abdominal wall weakness, you may be a suitable candidate for tummy tuck.

Breast reduction candidates generally include women who are bothered by large, sagging breasts that cause uncomfortable symptoms (including back, neck or shoulder pain; skin irritation or rashes; breathing problems; and shoulder indentations from bra straps). These women might feel their activity level is restricted because of oversized breasts, and they may suffer mental health problems, such as anxiety or depression, because of the way their breasts look. Conservative treatment including physical therapy and weight loss should be attempted first.

While there is no evidence that breast implants can cause breast cancer, they may change the way mammography is done to detect cancer. When you request a routine mammogram, be sure to go to a radiology center where technicians are experienced in the special techniques required to get a reliable x-ray of a breast with an implant. Additional views will be required. Ultrasound examinations may be of benefit in some women with implants to detect breast lumps or to evaluate the implant.

Mammography
Once the bandages and dressings have been removed, you’ll wear a support bra for several weeks. You may find that some breast sensation returns and that the incision lines fade. It’s critical to remain consistent with breast examinations and mammography. If implants have been placed, there are special radiography facilities that are equipped to perform mammograms on women with implants.

Absolutely. I believe there is a misnomer about having a breast augmentation. When people find out what I did they think I must not have gotten my monies worth because I am not voluptuous. That is why I am so happy. The physician really took the time to talk with me to find out what I wanted. That was very important to me. I am very active and like to run. Having very big breasts would not have made me feel comfortable. All of my expectations were met.

Breast reconstruction candidates are usually women who have had their entire breast(s) removed with mastectomy. Others lose their breasts to trauma. The physical and emotional health and stability of the breast reconstruction candidate is important and should be considered carefully by the patient and her doctors. Other factors of candidacy include the stage of breast cancer, the type of cancer treatment, amount of tissue available for a flap, whether one or both breasts require reconstruction and the size of the natural breast.

Lip enhancement or lip augmentation (such as Collagen injections), can be achieved using both non-surgical and surgical techniques.
