Depression

Ultrasound
The VASER LipoSelection System uses ultrasound energy, together with a Tumescent, which is a local anesthetic solution used to liquefy and dissolve fat cells, leaving surrounding tissue such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue relatively intact. The dissolved fat cells are then removed with gentle suction and massage. This procedure is not only safer than traditional liposuction, but there is less bruising, less down time, more skin tightening and smoother results.
MRI
Saline implants deflate when they rupture, making the problem obvious. With silicone implants, MRI or other diagnostic testing may be required to detect a leak. In either case, the solution is to surgically remove and replace the ruptured implant with breast revision surgery.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy, particularly Herceptin interferes with revascularization of the fat grafts. Aspirin and other anticoagulant medications, including herbal supplements that are known to have anticoagulant effects such as fatty acids, ginkgo biloba and vitamin E.

Reconstructive Surgery
After experiencing the emotional and physical difficulties of his patients coping with a diagnosis of breast cancer early in his career, Dr. Becker was determined to help patients undergoing mastectomies maintain their femininity and self-esteem following the loss of their natural breasts, and invented the Becker Adjustable Breast Implant. This implant allows the patient to undergo reconstructive surgery in only ONE procedure.
