Dental Examination
Your first appointment with our practice is very important. Dr. Elliott will take this time to thoroughly examine your mouth and take any x-rays necessary to complete a comprehensive exam. He will discuss any treatment you might need and educate you on your oral health. Due to time constraints, we do not offer cleanings during your new patient appointment but we are happy to schedule a time for you to see our hygienist when it is convenient for you.
X-rays
During the dental exam, we will clean your teeth and identify gum inflammation or bone loss. Dr. Elliott will also evaluate your risk of developing tooth decay or other oral health problems, as well as check your face, neck and mouth for abnormalities. A dental exam might also include dental X-rays or other diagnostic procedures.
Oral Cancer Screening
We use x-rays to find cavities between your teeth, calculus on the roots, worn out fillings, receding bone levels caused by periodontal disease and other conditions we can not find with a clinical exam alone. Without x-rays, we would not be able to detect these problems until they have become severe and damage has occurred. Our patients receive oral cancer screening, periodontal disease screenings, and a comprehensive exam.

Teeth Cleaning
Regular dental exams and cleanings are an important part of preventive health care. These exams not only protect your oral health but also your general well-being. This preventative exam gives Dr. Elliott a chance to provide tips on caring for your teeth and to detect any problems early — when they're most treatable.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments. Fluoride is a mineral that helps teeth repair themselves at the earliest stage of damage. If a cavity is beginning to form, a fluoride treatment may be able to help restore your tooth's enamel. Professional fluoride treatments contain more fluoride than the amount found in over-the-counter toothpaste and mouth rinses.
Dental Sealants
Dental plans are typically business arrangements between an insurance company and an employer. Most plans are designed to pay only a portion of your dental expenses. However, dental plans may exclude or discourage certain treatments, such as dental sealants, which can prevent tooth decay and save you money later on. Carefully read a plan and know its limitations. If a plan doesn't cover a procedure that is recommended by your dentist, this does not mean that the treatment isn't appropriate or needed.

Fillings are made of various materials, such as silver amalgams, tooth-colored composite resins, porcelain, or combinations of several materials. Each of these materials have different benefits and Dr. Elliott will discuss which will work best for your individualized treatment.
Veneers
Dr. Elliott has been trained to deal with complicated and simple restorations of the whole mouth as well as treating facial deformities. Common procedures treated by a prosthodontist may include dentures, partial dentures, fixed bridges, crowns, implants, veneers and more.
Crowns
The pulp is the soft tissue that contains nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. It lies within the tooth and extends from the crown of the tooth to the tip of the root in the bone of the jaws.
