Boston View Apartments

The one bedroom apartments are extremely small, especially for a couple. Very little storage and closet space. Kitchens and bathrooms and air conditioning units not kept in good running order. A major repair job on the pipes within the entire building in 2007 took an agonizingly slow time and was very disruptive. Responses to requests for repairs to individual apartments have very slow turnaround or no turnaround at all. The rent has increased dramatically over the last decade, and yet amenities (such as promised ceiling fans or window/carpwt cleaning for signing new lease) take forever. The roof, which offers a panoramic view of Charles and the cities of Boston and Cambridge, had its emergency exit door locked for a very long time.The outside students who came up to view the July 4 fireworks this year crowded out and obstructed the view of the building inhabitants, who left in frustration. Support staff is polite and verbally responsive, but nothing gets done very effectively or quickly. Something is wrong with the chain of command such that this building does not run very effectively.
