Stone Hill Winery

My husband & I stopped in yesterday and were very pleased. We did not have to take a tour, there was no sales pressure.... Just a pleasant young lady who took a small group of us into a tasting room. Before we left we bought two bottles that we sampled. They are changing to include other libations sometime this year but some Stonehill wine will also be available.

We have been to many wineries across the state and this was NOT a winery. We walked in and the greeter was pushing us to go on a tour which we were not interested in. We asked if we could sample some wine (as you normally do at a winery) and they didn't have a bar or anything to have us sample wines. They said we would have to wait for them to set up a private tasting room or we could go on the tour and then sample the wine. We felt very put out and profiled at this place. They gave a lot of attention to older folks but we are a younger couple and it seemed like no one was interested in our business. They told us we could look around and to please buy a bottle... but we hadn't even sampled anything! They have a very huge selection and a lot of knick knack stuff and wine accessories... so We left after about 10 minutes. We went to Mt. Pleasant Winery the next day which was a lot nicer.
