The Department of Public Works is a part of the State of Connecticut. Its energy unit provides services in the areas of energy conservation, usage and policy. The Department of Public Works also provides energy and hazardous material consultation services. The department s facilities planning unit collects, monitors and utilizes space allocation information to maximize the use of leased facilities. It has a code unit that provides technical assistance and resources to state agencies for code-related issues. The Department of Public Works additionally operates a leasing and property transfer unit that conducts real estate transactions.
