Primary Care
Ear Infections
Colds, upper respiratory infections, and URIs are common terms we use to describe viral illnesses that cause nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, and cough. The fever usually lasts for 2-3 days, and the cough with congestion and runny nose may last for 5-10 days. The typical preschool-age child may experience 6-10 colds per year. Most colds resolve on their own with rest and fluids, but some may lead to ear infection, sinus infection, asthma attack, or other complications. If you are concerned about the possibility of one of these complications, please have your child seen in our office for an evaluation.
Emergency Care
If an emergency should arise, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe breathing difficulties, severe bleeding, seizure, etc. In the case of minor emergencies (cuts, falls, sprains) that occur during normal business hours, please call our office first for instructions.

Our providers perform a complete history and physical exam including feeding, nutrition, and developmental assessment with anticipatory guidance. Beginning at age three, we include vision, hearing, and blood pressure screening if possible. We follow the guidelines of the CDC pertaining to the administration of childhood vaccinations. Immunizations are important not only for your child's health, but for the health of other children, and the community.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Initial Consultation Our office requires that each child undergoing an evaluation have a current well child exam/physical within one year of the evaluation, and then continue to have yearly well child exams. New patients wishing an evaluation must have the physical done first. We then ask you to make an appointment for an ADHD consultation. This appointment will last between 45-60 minutes. Prior to that appointment, you and the child’s teacher will need to complete ADHD Evaluation Forms.

Sports Medicine
We want every child to be able to participate in sports as safely as possible. Sports participation gives children the opportunity to build character, express themselves, and get the recommended 30-60 minutes of physical activity per day. We perform comprehensive pre-participation sports evaluations for all athletes as requested by the school districts or parents. The sports evaluation is included in the yearly physical for each child or teen.
