Fins Sushi & Grille

My girlfriend lives in VA Beach and comes up to Boston every other weekend...the number one thing we must do when she comes is to go to Fins Sushi & Grill. We absolutely love the food, love the atmospher and the staff is very nice as well. When the girlfriend is not in town I find myself eating at the sushi bar at least once a week while a watch a sporting event...overall - YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THEIR FOOD.

No comments about the sushi- but the shrimp and veggie tempura was HORRIBLE. We could only manage eating about two pieces, and had to leave. It was unfortunate.

The decor is well suited including an assortment of flat screen televisions and your standard(ized) saltwater fishtank and accompanied by a soothing art-fountain-display as you make your way to the restrooms. While the establishment hosts the typical sushi and cooked menu selections (teriyaki, tempura, etc...), its the house specials that really stand out and awaken your tastebuds.

The Kimchi fried rice is on the must-try list for those that fancy kimchi and enjoy its "zing." The sashimi is fresh and buttery delicious, while the edamame was hot and fresh from the steamer. Another old-time favorite of mine has to be Fins' seaweed salad- it has great texture while avoiding the fishy aroma that many I encounter seem to pong with. My all-time favorite discovery though is the mexican roll. This unique roll, with its deliciously inviting presentation has an innovative blend of flavors. Avocado, maguro, tobiko, tabasco? YES!! Tabasco- and surprisingly it suits each bite smoothly. I left the restaurant feeling elated and quite satisfied by this new gem.The only drawback I enountered was that for a fairly slow evening, our waitress was M.I.A. during most of the meal when we needed her (refills, napkins, etc..) however the host graciously tended to our requests. I recommend Fins to any and all that enjoy new tastes and love sushi cuisine. Enjoy!
