Teeth Cleaning

Fillings
Amalgam fillings (silver) expand when they set up and create an outward pressure on the tooth. This outward pressure can cause fractures and cracks. Bondings (white fillings) chemically bond to the tooth creating a stronger adherence.
Veneers
Veneers can address areas of your teeth in your smile zone that are chipped or irreversibly stained. A diagnostic waxup (wax placed on a stone model made from a mold of your existing teeth) creates a simulation smile design. This simulation allows you to visualize firsthand what your veneers will look like before you even receive any treatment.
Crowns
Our office utilizes the CEREC unit enabling us to fabricate and deliver crowns within an hour. CEREC combines 3D imaging technology and computer aided design with computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM). No temporary, no messy impression, and no return visit to the office to cement your crown! A 3d picture of your prepared tooth is taken and sent to the CEREC crown milling unit. Bridges
In some instances, the teeth attaching to a bridge may not be stable or there may be too many teeth missing. These conditions prevent the use of a fixed bridge as a suitable treatment option and your dentist may speak to you about a partial to replace the missing teeth. A partial is a removable appliance that has the replacement teeth attached to a metal framework.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
There are a few reasons a tooth could need a root canal. One reason is if a cavity is large enough to expose the tissue inside the tooth. If there is no exposure, a tooth may still need a root canal following treatment due to the inflammation stemming from the proximity of a filling material to the tissue inside the tooth. Another reason could be a tooth that has fractured and exposed the tissue. Occasionally, a traumatic injury with no fracture to a tooth could also be a causative agent for a root canal.

Deep Cleaning
Most patients recieve an adult prophy which is a normal cleaning. With an excess of plaque and calculus buildup, we recommend that some patients receive a Scaling and Root Planning procedure (also called a deep cleaning). A deep cleaning is a more aggressive cleaning and is typically performed under local anesthetic. Because anasthetic is needed for this procedure, a full mouth deep cleaning is divided into two visits to avoid numbing the entire mouth.
