Frank King has been my piano teacher for over seven years. He is an exceptionally experienced and talented music instructor. Mr. King exercises latitude as long as the musical objectives are not compromised. By this I mean, If there is a specific technique to be acquired, Mr. King permits you to choose from an assortment of genres that will bring about the desired result. In this manner, you enjoy the acquisition of the new technique. Frank King has a special flair for arranging or rearranging certain practice pieces to make them more pianistic. Of course, classical music is exempt from this freedom of expression. I love it!!!

Lessons are always orchestrated to fit the student. Mr. King develops the curriculum around the student when the assignment is molded specifically to your abilities; it effectively stimulates your involvement and motivation.

I enjoy Frank King’s piano instruction and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning the piano in a personalized way.

My pianistic journey was interrupted by an unfortunate decision I made earlier in my life. When I was eleven years old, I took piano lesson with Frank King and although I enjoyed the lessons, I decided to pursue other endeavors.

Presently, I’m in my early twenties, and my dream is to become a proficient pianist. I’m taking piano lessons with Frank King again. Playing the piano is therapeutic. When you take into consideration my job environment coupled with college courses and the stressfulness of life, playing and practicing the piano is my release. Frank is a wonderfully resourceful teacher. He is assisting me in making my dream reach fruition in a way I thoroughly enjoy.

I particularly like two of his teaching techniques. One he calls, “individualization.” Individualization means that each assignment is molded to my personal aptitude, present abilities, techniques, and potentialities. This approach magnifies my motivation because the assignments fit and are consequently enjoyable. The other teaching technique I especially enjoy is Repertoire Development.

Repertoire is a collection of pieces that I know, can perform, and embellish as I wish because I know the selections so well. Frank consistently says, “Without a respectable repertoire, you will never become a pianist.”

Frank also often refers to what he calls, “the four D’s: Desire; Dedication; Determination; and Diligence. If you apply yourself to these words, you are on your way to becoming a proficient pianist.

In conclusion, if you are searching for a piano instructor, you need not search anymore. Frank King is the best!!!!!

Frank King is without a doubt a remarkable and dedicated teacher whose extensive experience and incomparable competence will guide you toward accomplishment and advancement in your musical endeavors. Each student's ambition should be to reach a point where he/she can be regarded as a true musician on his/her instrument; however, before that objective can be achieved, one needs the appropriate instructor. Mr. King is the perfect means to that end. In just a few years, I have improved in such a manner - one that I did not even expect of myself - that was made possible by my teacher, Frank King. His prodigious patience and knowledge coupled with his teaching strategies and constructive criticism paved the way.

He is an adept and accomplished musician who will lead you step by step towards your goals. I came into his studio as a dull amateur with average experience of the subject, and now I am a thriving and rising pianist who can play many beautiful pieces with skill and expertise.

Mr. King will inspire you to push yourself to be a fine pianist. He knows what he does and has the qualities of the perfect teacher.

I took piano lessons with Frank King from the age of nine to about eighteen - quite a while ago, as I am now forty. Those lessons instilled a deep and abiding love of music that has kept me playing until today.

Lessons with Frank were never dull. His engaging and vibrant personality coupled with a warm if sometimes impish sense of humor made lesson time something to look forward to. His knowledge and experience made the lessons rewarding in many dimensions.

Beyond the scales and method books, Frank made music pertinent to my (then teenage) life. If I heard a song in the background of a commercial, he'd recognize the piece and help me to learn it (The commercial was for the Commodore 64 computer; the piece was Bach's Invention #13 in A minor). If a song was huge on MTV, he'd write an arrangement of it for me (Journey, "Open Arms"). There was Mozart, Bach, and Chopin, of course, when I was ready for them. Frank knew how to help me through difficult pieces, dissolving my frustration with humor and encouragement while keeping me motivated to practice.

When my children got interested in learning to play, I decided to see if Frank was still teaching - and so he is! My son (9) is now in his second year of lessons, and my daughter (6) is in her first. They are both learning quickly and eagerly thanks to Frank's gentle but thorough approach and keen sense of what each child is ready for. They are challenged, but not overwhelmed - and definitely never bored - with the curriculum.

If you want music to be part of your life, Mr. King can and should help you on your journey!

My son has been taking piano lessons with Frank King for several years. During this period, he has developed a student-teacher bond with Frank that has successfully withstood my sons's vigorous extracurricular athletic activities. Frank maintains a musical agenda that is varied always including pieces which spark my sons's interest. "Repertoire" development is stressed coupled with the fundamentals. If you are looking for a piano instructor who is dedicated to your child's motivation and satisfaction, I wholeheartedly recommend Frank King as your piano teacher.

Overall

I have been taking piano lessons from Frank King for 2 years. Frank King is an exceptional teacher. During my first recital he gave me the inspiration to play on the grand piano even though I had never played it before. I was able to perform challenging pieces. Frank calls his teaching technique "individualization." With this method he personalizes each lesson to my abilities. I have found this to be rather rewarding and motivating because each lesson is tailored specifically for me. I would highly recommend Frank King to anyone who is interested in learning the piano. I look forward to future lessons with Frank and my next recital.

When our daughter Erin expressed an interest in piano lessons, I wasn't sure where to start. Schools don't generally teach piano as an instrument so finding a reference from anyone I knew proved to be impossible. I started researching using the internet and yellow pages and that's when I found Frank King. Hesitant at first about finding

someone strictly on the internet, I contacted Frank and left a message, explaining that my 7 year old daughter was interested in taking lessons and that she had no musical experience. In our first conversation, Frank explained his teaching ideology (and even played a little piano for me) and I found him to be fascinating, informative and definitely passionate about teaching. I made an appointment and Erin and I met with him soon after. Erin and Frank hit it off immediately and she's been with him for close to two years.

What my husband and I love about Frank is his ability to work with each individual student so that the lesson is suited to them. He always seems to have the perfect combination of patience and firmness during lessons. He genuinely loves teaching and watching his students progress. During the 2012 Spring Recital we found that to be even more apparent as we watched Frank interact with many of his students,

which we never had a chance to do before. As he watched each performance, he was like a proud father! He talked to each of them before they started and gave them the support and encouragement they needed to get through any jitters. From the five year olds to the teenagers, the pride and happiness he expressed during that recital

showed us that we were not the only ones who found Frank King to be a very special teacher and I am very happy that my internet search led me to him!
